What this range is

$3,800 to $6,500 is the total treatment fee for a full case at either the West San Antonio or the East San Antonio office. It is one fee for the case rather than a per-visit rate, so it does not move up because a treatment turns out to need more adjustment appointments than expected.

What decides where a case lands

Two things carry the weight. The first is how much correction the case needs: straightening crowded teeth is a different amount of work from correcting how the upper and lower jaws meet, and a case doing both sits higher in the range. The second is how long treatment runs, since a longer case means more appointments and more chair time.

Treatment type matters less than people expect. Metal braces, ceramic braces and Invisalign all sit inside the same range here, so choosing between them is a clinical and cosmetic decision rather than a financial one. Phase I treatment for a younger child is quoted on its own, separately from any full treatment that follows in the teenage years.

Some cases call for an additional appliance, such as an expander, a Herbst or temporary anchorage devices. If yours does, the orthodontist will say so at the consultation and explain what it adds before anything is agreed.

Insurance and paying over time
